At Colorado Golf Club in Parker, a dazzling walkout ranch with a view above the lake to the mountains is $1.7 million
Colorado Golf Club, the private club on a panoramic championship course five minutes south of downtown Parker, is exploding with custom building this year — much of it in the $2-million-plus range. But LIV Sotheby’s International agent Mimi Sturtevant can show you a special enclave inside the club today, where a lushly sized walkout ranch on a one-half to one-acre site can be had from $1.285 million. And for $1.7 million you could include a showplace view of the lake and the mountains, and move in by Thanksgiving.
“Colorado Golf Club has everything that luxury buyers seem to be after now,” says Sturtevant. She’ll show you Betts Lake, an enclave of large sites arrayed around a 9-acre lake within the club, displayed from an eye-catching walkout model by architect Karen Keating, for Masterpiece Custom Builders.
The model, with standard features that are heads and shoulders above anything you’re seeing at this price range, is the starting point for one of three routes into the club: The first of those is to order a home from one of these Betts Lake plans, priced from $1.285 million — taking advantage of the lavish features. Every home here gets a full-wide, three-car garage, the day-lit walkout level, and finished space included there for a guest bedroom and added entertaining area. Finish and trim are top-shelf.
Route two is to build on one of a few exceptional sites that Sturtevant will show you — like one we visited that backs to the lake — adding customized spaces and features like some you’ll see today. Sturtevant is also the person to start with if you’re looking at custom building here. She can show you sites — ridgeline, meadow or wooded — close to the 44,000-square-foot clubhouse or overlooking the 7,610-yard course, set for USGA’s Mid-Am Championship in 2019.
There’s one quicker route into Betts Lake, as well. Sturtevant will show you one 3-bedroom walkout ranch nearing completion now, on a hilltop site that will provide one of the best views the community will ever offer, west over the lake toward an unobstructed view of the Continental Divide.
It’s on track for completion this month, getting a palette of cooler colors and contemporary trim features that Sturtevant calls “on trend.” You’ll see a lavish fireplace setting in flagstone, a kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, and glass-tile backsplash; molded marble his-and-her sinks in the master bath; a giant deck to take in the view; and an outsized finish package in the daylit walkout level — a bar with glass-tile trim, wine cellar, a guest casita with a private entrance, and lots of outdoor living space sharing the same views.
You’ll enjoy some goodies prepared by club chef Bob Burden, and you’ll get a taste of the “lock-n-leave” lifestyle that Sturtevant says is as important to this buyer as the views: full security provided from the club’s 24-hour gated entry, along with yard maintenance and snow removal. You’ll pass the new resort-style pool and you’ll hear about the option of memberships at Colorado Golf Club, beginning with a $10,000 social membership and from $55,000 for a non-equity golf membership.
Despite the sublime setting, this is a property that’s very accessible into the south I-25 business corridor, about 20 minutes from my office in the Tech Center. Take Parker Road south, past Parker’s historic Mainstreet, another three miles to Stroh Road, then turn east ¼ mile to the first right at Preservation Trail, and stop at the gate for a map. – Mark Samuelson writes on real estate and business; you can email him at mark@samuelsonassoc.com.
