Bob Dylan plots return to Broomfield

- Black Rebel Motorcyle Club John Wenzel: 303-954-1642 or jwenzel@denverpost.com

Bob Dylan last stopped by the Denver area for a Father’s Day show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2016, but his previous appearance held a bit less grandeur — a 2012 concert at the FirstBank Center, with Mark Knopfler. Dylan will return to the modest (compared to Red Rocks, anyway) venue with His Band and opener/legend-in-her-own-right Mavis Staples on Oct. 21 — almost five years to the day since his previous show at the Broomfield venue. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15. ($54.50-$129.50, altitudetickets.com) “The Ghost of Christmas Eve” appears to be alive and well for reliable holiday-music juggernaut Trans-Siberian Orchestra, which will take over the Pepsi Center as part of its new “Winter Tour” for 3 and 8 p.m. shows on Nov. 18. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15. ($43-$74, altitudetickets.com) Murder by Death is returning to Colorado for its annual concerts at the Stanley Hotel, following sold-out runs in previous years at the historic Estes Park venue. This year the band offers two weekends of shows, Jan. 5-6 and Jan. 12-14, with tickets on sale now. ($50, murderbydeath.com/ tour-dates) will bring its dark, moody swagger to the Ogden Theatre on Feb. 15, with an opening set from Night Beats, to promote new album “Wrong Creatures,” dropping on Jan. 12. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15. ($27.75, axs.com) Hip-hop/pop producer RJD2 will also stop by the Ogden Theatre for a show on Jan. 27, which includes a pair of ticket options: $20-$27 for general admission, or $50 for a VIP spot on the balcony. Both admission options are 16and-up and on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 15. (axs.com)
