COLTS RULE OUT QB LUCK FOR WEEK 3

-

INDIANAPOLIS» The Colts officially ruled out quarterback Andrew Luck for their Week 3 game against the Browns, coach Chuck Pagano said Monday.

Luck has been out since having right shoulder surgery in January. He hasn’t practiced or played since Week 17 of last season.

Pagano was asked directly whether he has any doubts about Luck playing this season, and the coach’s response was “no.” The next step for Luck is practicing.

“I don’t know about practice,” Pagano said. “I guess when the doctors clear him to practice and he puts the red jersey on, you guys see him out there, I see him at the same time. We’ll know he’s ready to go and start practicing.”

49ers lose strong safety Reid.

Already down two starters at linebacker, the 49ers will be without strong safety Eric Reid in Thursday’s vs. the Rams.

Niners coach Kyle Shanahan announced Reid suffered an injury to the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, would not be available to play against the Rams, and is likely to miss more time beyond that.

Browns’ Coleman breaks hand.

The Browns’ Corey Coleman broke his right hand again during a loss in Baltimore, and the 2016 first-round pick had surgery Monday. He is not expected to play again for at least two months.

Former Colorado State star Rashard Higgins led the Browns with nine catches for 75 yards Sunday after being signed off the practice squad.
