- — The Associated Press

No. 7 Georgia and No. 9 TCU jumped into the top 10 on Sunday of The Associated Press college football poll for the first time this season, and Florida State dropped out of the rankings for the first time since 2011 after starting 0-2.

Alabama remained No. 1 and won back some of the support it lost last week to No. 2 Clemson. The Crimson Tide received 52 first-place votes Sunday, up seven from last week, after beating Vanderbilt 59-0 on Saturday.

The last time Alabama wasn’t ranked was the final poll of the 2007 season.

Clemson received eight first-place votes, down seven from last week, after taking more than three quarters to pull away from Boston College. No. 3 Oklahoma got the remaining first-place vote.

Penn State held at No. 4. Southern California was No. 5, followed by Pac-12 rival Washington.

Georgia followed Michigan, and TCU and Wisconsin rounded out the top 10.

Oregon dropped out after one week in the rankings, following a 37-35 loss at Arizona State.

Questions linger about QB’s injury.

Michigan beat Purdue 28-10, but the team left the game with a few extra questions about its offense.

Starting quarterback Wilton Speight went down with an injury in the first quarter after taking an awkward hit on a sack and was out for the rest of the game.

“I don’t think it’s anything structural. I think it’s soft tissue,” Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said. “But we’ll find out more. He’s just working through something.”

Harbaugh said he did not know how long Speight would be out and said Speight would be evaluated further once the team got back to Ann Arbor.

Oklahoma State loses starting guard.

Sixth-ranked Oklahoma State has lost starting right guard Larry Williams for the season because of a leg injury.

The Cowboys were also without starting right tackle Zachary Crabtree on Saturday in their 44-31 upset loss to No. 16 TCU. Crabtree is still recovering from a toe injury suffered last weekend at Pittsburgh.

Crabtree, a preseason all-Big 12 selection, has 36 career starts and is the most experienced offensive lineman in the conference. Williams was in his second season as a starter.

Stanford routs UCLA with Love.

Bryce Love rushed for a career-high 263 yards and a touchdown to pad his conference-leading total, thirdstring quarterback K.J. Costello came off the bench and threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Stanford beat UCLA 58-34 late Saturday.

Wyoming wins it in overtime.

Linebacker Cassh Maluia intercepted a tipped pass in overtime, giving Wyoming a 28-21 win over Hawaii late Saturday night.

After the teams battled to a 21-21 tie at the end of regulation, Wyoming scored on the first play of its overtime possession when Josh Allen rolled out to his right and hit James Price in the end zone for a 25yard touchdown pass.
