The Power Rangers are coming to Denver in 2018

When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than to be one of the mighty, morphin’ teenagers on the liveaction martial arts TV show “The Power Rangers.” I wanted to be the Red Ranger, in particular. I dressed up like him for Halloween, and had a stuffed doll of one of the show’s villains that I would punch and toss into the ceiling fan, just like my heroes did in the show (more or less).

On Tuesday, AEG Presents announced that the newest generation of The Power Rangers — not my rangers, who must be in their 40s by now — will go on a 31-date tour across the United States in 2018 for Power Rangers Live!, an “interactive, mixed media stage production for the whole family with endless action-packed stunts and epic martial arts,” according to a release.

The show comes to Denver’s Bellco Theatre on Feb. 21, 2018, and it’s pretty

Emuch guaranteed to attract gobs of misty-eyed millennials looking to relive (or laugh at) their childhood heroes. Tickets go on sale Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. via axs.com.

But wait. Do kids even watch this show anymore? I mean, the tour is marking The Power Rangers’ 25th anniversary.

As it turns out, the show has stayed on the air this whole time. In fact, there have been 30 Red Rangers in the quarter-century since the show first aired.

And, as a rep for the tour offered, the show nets more than 4 million views a week on Nickelodeon and is “still the #1 boys live

Eaction TV franchise.”

So, the kids are in. And nostalgic millennials are definitely in. That means The Power Rangers Live! show could bridge a generational gap as large as the internet. If anyone can do it, it’s these guys.

Especially the Red Ranger. I still can’t wait to meet you, whoever you are these days.
