TORONTO» Frederik Andersen made 36 saves, and the Maple Leafs handed the Kings their first regulation loss of the season with a 3-2 victory Monday.

Matt Martin, Tyler Bozak and Patrick Marleau scored for the Maple Leafs. Mitch Marner added two assists.

Adrian Kempe and Trevor Lewis scored for Los Angeles, which had won four in a row. Jonathan Quick stopped 31 shots for the Kings.

MONDAY’S HIGHLIGHT

Logan Couture had a goal and an assist, Martin Jones stopped 33 shots as the Sharks beat the Rangers 4-1. Tim Heed, Joonas Donskoi and Melker Karlsson also scored. Jones got his fourth straight win after losing his first two starts.

Ducks forward Patrick Eaves has been diagnosed with GuillainBa­rre syndrome, and his hockey career is on hold while he recovers. Guillain-Barre syndrome is a rare disorder in which a patient’s immune system attacks the nervous system, sometimes resulting in death. Eaves’ condition stabilized after a stint in the ICU. … Brian Boyle returned to practice with the Devils, almost one month to the day of his diagnosis after a blood test revealed he had chronic myelogenou­s leukemia (CML), a form of blood and bone marrow cancer. … Wild veteran Zach Parise is contemplat­ing back surgery that would sideline the winger for up to two months. … The Flames placed Jaromir Jagr on injured reserve. The Flames said he was being evaluated for a lower-body injury after Saturday’s game. A player placed on injured reserve is ineligible to play in NHL games for seven days.
