Two views on Republican senators’ criticism of President Trump

What do Republican Sens. Jeff Flake, John McCain and Bob Corker have in common? None are up for re-election, leaving them free to speak out publicly about what nearly all of us already know, even if some of us can’t or won’t openly admit it.

President Donald Trump is unfit for office and this show has gone on far too long. What do the rest of the Republicans in Congress have in common? They’re all cowards for not having the courage to call this president out. Their collective overriding need for campaign funds has affected their moral compass. There can be no better illustration of how badly money has corrupted our political process.

These same congressmen are about to “reform” our tax code, and then take another stab at health care at the behest of their wealthy donors? Hold on.

I am currently as furious at my fellow Republicans as I usually am at the Democrats, because their constant Bob Corker/Jeff Flake-style sniping at President Donald Trump is so strictly grounded in pure jealousy and anger.

When we went to the polls last year, we chose an ordinary citizen as our president, not one of “them,” not one of the polished, practiced, officeholding elites, and that sticks in their craw like nothing else ever could.

Here’s the bottom line — you all work for us, he’s our president, so stop whining and put through the agenda that you and he ran on. Or shall we meet you at the polls next year and say “You’re fired!” because you’re a bunch of liars?
