FOUR PLAYERS QUESTIONABLE FOR K.C. GAME

-

The Broncos on Saturday listed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle), inside linebacker Todd Davis (ankle), defensive end Derek Wolfe (foot, hand) and tight end Virgil Green (shoulder) as questionable to play Monday at Kansas City. Offensive tackle Donald Stephenson (calf ) was ruled out.

Quarterback Paxton Lynch, who returned to practice last week after suffering a shoulder sprain in the preseason, was not ruled out. But he will be inactive Monday, coach Vance Joseph said. Trevor Siemian and Brock Osweiler will remain the only two active quarterbacks against the Chiefs.

The Broncos will get offensive tackle Menelik Watson

(calf ), wide receiver Isaiah Mckenzie (ankle) and wide receiver Cody Latimer (knee) back from injuries. The latter two boost not only the offense, but a specialteams unit that has struggled in recent weeks in nearly all facets.

Wolfe attended the Broncos’ walkthrough Saturday but did not practice all week because of injuries. He indicated Friday that he expects to play Monday.

“I’m not going to lie. I didn’t think I was going to be able to play a couple days ago,” he said. “I was like, ‘Man, I don’t know.’ But we have a great training staff here. They get us ready to play. That’s what they’re best at. It would take a lot for me not to be playing on ‘Monday Night Football’ against the Chiefs.”

Davis, who suffered a high ankle sprain against the Chargers last Sunday and has yet to practice since, appears unlikely to play Monday. His potential loss would be a major blow to the Denver defense as it faces rookie running back Kareem Hunt and the Chiefs’ league-leading rushing offense in yards per carry (5.2). If Davis can’t play, Zaire Anderson and Jerrol Garcia-williams will take on larger roles.

Roster report. Denver waived wide receiver Hunter Sharp and promoted linebacker Kevin Snyder from the practice squad.

Sharp was activated after injuries to Latimer, Mckenzie and Sanders. He played in one game, against the Chargers last weekend, serving as a backup wideout and starting punt returner.

Ray’s return. The Broncos were expected to activate outside linebacker Shane Ray from injured reserve before leaving for Kansas City. Monday’s game will be Ray’s 2017 debut after undergoing wrist surgery during training camp. The Broncos have only 52 players on their active roster, which means, barring another move on the active roster, they would not have to release anyone to make room for Ray.
