BRONCOS RALLY TO BEAT DU HOCKEY FOR 2ND STRAIGHT NIGHT

MICH.» Three third-period KALAMAZOO, goals in 43 seconds from Western Michigan led the Broncos to a 7-4 victory over the Pioneers on Saturday night at Lawson Arena.

Western Michigan’s three quick strikes flipped a 4-2 deficit and contribute­d to the Broncos’ five-goal third period.

On Friday night, the Broncos scored two late goals to beat the Pioneers 6-5.

Denver took a three-goal lead Saturday in second period when Liam Finlay and Jaako Heikkinen connected on a two-on-one rush. The goal forced Western Michigan to replace goalie Austin Cain with Ben Blacker.

Western Michigan started chipping away with five minutes left in the second period. Colt Conrad sent a pass to Wade Allison, who finished to make it 3-1. Allison then went around a Pioneers defenseman about a minute later and made it 3-2.

• Colorado College rallied from a 1-0 deficit on a pair of second-period goals from Tanner Ockey and Westin Michaud to defeat Miami-ohio 2-1 and earn a split in the weekend series in Oxford, Ohio.

Colorado State with 13 kills and hit .478 as the Rams swept Boise State 27-25, 25-13, 25-22 to clinch the program’s 14th Mountain West title.

Paulina Hougaard-jensen and Kirstie Hillyer added nine kills each. Katie Oleksak recorded 38 assists. Hillyer and Sanja Cizmic controlled the net with five stuffs apiece, and Cizmic led the Rams in digs with 13.

CSU went 14-0 in conference play.

Adams State claims two titles.

TEXAS» Nine of the top 10 CANYON, women’s individual spots at the Division II South Central Regional cross country meet went to runners from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, with Adams State’s Malena Grover leading the 6K course, crossing the line at 21:03.54.

In the team standings, Adams State won the team standings with a time of 1:47:11.48 and 26 points.

On the men’s side, Adams State’s Lucio Ramirez was crowned South Central Region champion, leading the 10K field with a time of 30:38.47.

Adams State won the team title with 35 points and a total time of 2:35:06.48.

Goerges will face Vandeweghe.
