BENNETT CUT BY PACKERS

- — The Associated Press

The Packers cut tight end Martellus Bennett with the failure to disclose a medical condition designation, the team announced Wednesday.

By cutting Bennett with that designation, it sets up the Packers’ case for a grievance to reclaim the $4.2 million in remaining prorated signing bonus money.

Bennett is now subject to waivers. All 31 other teams have until 2 p.m. Thursday to submit a claim on him. If he does not get claimed, he becomes a free agent and can sign with any team at any time after that.

The tight end hasn’t played since he announced during the Packers’ bye week that he was “pretty sure” this would be his last NFL season. When Bennett returned from the bye, he offered only a one-word explanation for what led him to that decision: “Life,” he said.

Players turning on McAdoo.

Two Giants players told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that coach Ben McAdoo no longer has the support of his 1-7 team.

“McAdoo has lost this team,” one player who asked to remain anonymous told Anderson. “He’s got us going 80 percent on Saturdays before we get on a plane to play a game. It’s wild. Changed our off day. He’s dishing out fines like crazy. Suspended two of our stars when we need them the most. Throws us under the bus all the time. He’s ran us into the ground and people wonder why we’ve been getting got.”

A second player who also requested anonymity told Anderson: “Guys are giving up on the season and nothing’s being done.”

Those comments from both players came last week, before the Giants lost 51-17 to the Los Angeles Rams at MetLife Stadium in one of the worst home losses in the team’s history.

Brown out, Dunbar rising.

Running back Malcolm Brown injured an MCL in the second half of Sunday’s win and is “going to be out for a little bit of time,” Rams coach Sean McVay said.

Brown’s absence could open a role for Lance Dunbar.

Bucs QB Winston apologizes.

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston apologized for inciting the incident that led to receiver Mike Evans’ suspension and also said he had his throwing shoulder examined by orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Thomas doubtful again.

WASH.» Eddie Lacy RENTON, will be out and Earl Thomas is doubtful for the Seahawks heading into Thursday night’s game against Arizona.

Lacy suffered a groin injury early in Sunday’s loss to Washington. But the bigger absence could be Thomas, who is on the verge of missing his second straight game with a hamstring injury.

Vikings shuffle QBs.

The Vikings added quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the active roster and put Sam Bradford on injured reserve.

Meanwhile, coach Mike Zimmer said Case Keenum will make his seventh start of the season for their game at Washington on Sunday.
