MAN STABBED AS 4 ROBBERS INVADE HOME

COUNTY» A man LARIMER reported being attacked and stabbed during a home invasion robbery early Sunday morning, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Larimer County deputies were dispatched at 12:52 a.m. to the Estes Park Medical Center emergency room to meet the man after emergency workers contacted them.

The man said he and his family were in their home in the Pinewood Springs area when there was a knock at the door. When he answered, four individual­s pushed the door open and assaulted him and two other residents, the sheriff’s office said.

The two other victims sustained minor injuries.

The four took some items and fled. The sheriff’s office is investigat­ing and at this time doesn’t believe there is a continuing threat to public safety.

Father of 8-month-old arrested in the child’s death. COUNTY» LARIMER

The 20-year-old father of a baby boy who died Friday in Loveland is in custody facing charges of recklessly causing the child’s death. Gabriel Isaac Navarrete is in the Larimer County jail after being arrested at 8:34 p.m. Saturday, according to the Loveland Police Department.

On Friday, police received a 911 call requesting medical assistance for a 8-month-old boy who wasn’t breathing.

Police responded to an apartment at 910 N. Douglas Ave. in Loveland, and the child was taken to McKee Medical Center, where he was declared deceased.

Loveland detectives, in conjunctio­n with the Larimer County district attorney and the Larimer County coroner, responded.

No other children were in the house at the time.

Man shot, killed outside Denver strip club.

A man was shot to death early Sunday morning outside a strip club on South Federal Boulevard.

Police said the man was shot outside Dandy Dan’s, 214 S. Federal Blvd. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police did not have any informatio­n Sunday about a suspect.

Boulder County traffic deaths highest in more than decade.

BOULDER» In 2017, Boulder County has recorded 30 fatal traffic crashes as of Dec. 23, surpassing last year’s total of 24 and the highest of any year since at least 2004, according online Colorado Department of Transporta­tion records.

Before 2004, National Highway Traffic Safety Administra­tion records — which are available up until 2015 — indicate that the previous high happened in 2002, when 33 people died in traffic crashes on Boulder County roads, followed by 31 deaths in 1995.

Of the 30 people killed in 2017, five people died in crashes where impaired driving was suspected. As of mid-December, El Paso County topped the state’s statistics for traffic fatalities, with 66, followed by Adams, Weld and Denver counties, according to CDOT records.

AdAmAn Club celebrates multiple milestones during New Year’s Eve hike up Pikes Peak.

SPRINGS» The AdAmAn Club celebrated two milestones Sunday as members and guests summited Pikes Peak in time for a New Year’s Eve fireworks show.

The first was the induction of the club’s 100th member, David Artusi, a five-year guest climber with the club.

The second is the 100th anniversar­y of Fred Barr’s completion of the survey of the trail the club climbed.
