BOULDER» Japreece Dean sank five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points, propelling No. 14 UCLA to a 93-55 win over Colorado in women’s basketball.

The Bruins took control early, opening the game with a deep 3pointer from Kelli Hayes to spark a 16-0 run for their best start this season. CU (11-6, 2-4 Pac-12) was held to just nine points in the opening quarter, all coming in the final 4:14.

In the second quarter, the Buffaloes got a pair of 3-pointers from Alexis Robinson, and Kennedy Leonard also had one from long range, but never threatened as UCLA continued to pull away, taking a 52-28 advantage.

Jordin Canada added 10 points and dished out 11 assists for UCLA, becoming the first women’s player in Pac-12 history to record 1,800 career points and 700 assists. Hayes finished with 13 points, Kennedy Burke had 12 and Monique Billings hauled in 11 rebounds.

CU, which has lost two straight, was led by Leonard’s 12 points.

• Jaime Nared scored 19 points as No. 6 Tennessee bounced back from its first loss of the season with an 86-70 victory at No. 9 South Carolina, which played without injured AllAmerica­n A’ja Wilson.

The 6-foot-5 Wilson was sidelined with a right ankle sprain.

• Sabrina Ionescu scored 26 points and Ruthy Hebard added 20, leading No. 8 Oregon to a 74-64 victory over No. 18 Arizona State.

Virginia runs win streak to eight.

Devon Hall scored a career-best 25 points as the No. 3 Virginia men’s basketball team pushed its win streak to eight with a 68-51 win over North Carolina State.

Kyle Guy added 17 points for the Cavaliers. Virginia has won 11 straight regular-season meetings against the Wolfpack.

Torin Dorn scored 16 points to lead North Carolina State, which had a 3-0 record against ranked teams.

• West Virginia is reviewing an incident in which forward Wes Harris was seen striking a Texas Tech fan who had joined thousands of others in a postgame celebratio­n of No. 8 Texas Tech’s 72-71 win over No. 2 West Virginia on Saturday.
