HORFORD GIVES CELTICS SUPER WIN AGAINST BLAZERS

BOSTON» Al Horford made a 15foot fadeaway jumper at the final buzzer as the Celtics finished off the Trail Blazers 97-96 on Sunday, giving New England fans a few hours to get home before the Super Bowl.

The crowd at TD Garden was dotted with jerseys for Patriots stars Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. A Philadelph­ia Eagles fan shown on the Jumbo-Tron repeatedly got booed.

Horford wound up with 22 points and 10 rebounds, helping Boston win its fourth in a row.

Damian Lillard shot just 6-for19 but scored Portland’s final eight points, including a threepoint play with 7.2 seconds left to give the Blazers a 96-95 lead.

C.J. McCollum led the Blazers with 22 points, and Lillard contribute­d 21.

Boston trailed 85-79 with 5:37 remaining before going on an 11-0 run, sparked by consecutiv­e 3-pointers from Semi Ojeleye, Jayson Tatum and Horford.

Tatum finished with 17 points for the Celtics.

Boston’s Terry Rozier had 11 points on 5-of-18 shooting after posting a triple-double and a career-high 31 points in his previous two games while starting in place of guard Kyrie Irving.

Brook Lopez scored 20 points and Julius Randle contribute­d 19 as the Lakers sent the Thunder to its fourth consecutiv­e loss, 108-104. Jordan Clarkson scored 18 points and Brandon Ingram added 16 for the Lakers, who have won six of eight. Russell Westbrook scored 36 points and Paul George added 26 for the Thunder. … Nicolas Batum scored 22 points and the Hornets rallied from a 21-point, second-half deficit to beat the Suns 115-110. … Kent Bazemore’s 3pointer with 6.7 seconds left lifted the Hawks to a 99-96 win over the Knicks. The Hawks rallied from a 93-87 deficit in the final 2:16. … Eric Bledsoe scored 28 points, John Henson had 19 points and 18 rebounds, and the Bucks easily extended their winning streak over the Nets to 10 games with a 109-94 victory. … Delon Wright scored 15 points, DeMar DeRozan and Fred Van-Vleet each scored 13 and the Raptors pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Memphis 101-86, their fifth consecutiv­e home win over the slumping Grizzlies. Jonas Valanciuna­s scored 12 points, Kyle Lowry had 11 and Pascal Siakam contribute­d 10 as the Raptors improved to 21-4 at home, the best record in the NBA.
