RANGERS BEAT FLAMES, SNAP LOSING STREAK

YORK» Mika Zibanejad NEW scored the go-ahead goal on a power play, Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves in relief and the Rangers beat the Flames 4-3 on Friday night to snap a four-game losing streak.

Zibanejad scored his 16th goal of the season at 12:41 off a crossice pass from J.T. Miller.

Lundqvist replaced Ondrej Pavelec after Pavelec injured his knee in the first period. Lundqvist came out to start the second with score tied at 1.

The Rangers won for the first time since Jan. 26 at San Jose, and ended Calgary’s three-game winning streak. New York had lost 10 of its last 13 games.

FRIDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

Fourth-line center Jay Beagle put Washington ahead for good with his 50th career goal, and the Capitals continued their dominance against the Blue Jackets with a 4-2 victory. … Brock Nelson scored his third goal of the game 3:15 into overtime and Islanders, boosted by a late flurry, emerged with a wild 7-6 win over the Red Wings .… Brett Pesce, Phil Di Giuseppe and Sebastian Aho scored in the first period, leading the Hurricanes to a 4-1 win over the Canucks. Justin Williams added his 10th in the third as Carolina stopped a three-game slide. Scott Darling, who had lost his last three starts, made 22 saves. … Anze Kopitar scored his 22nd goal of the season, Jonathan Quick made 35 saves and the Kings beat the Panthers 3-1 for their third straight victory. Jonny Brodzinski scored the goahead goal, and Nick Shore also connected for the Kings. … Vladimir Tarasenko scored two goals, and the Blues used a big push in the second period to beat the Jets 5-2. Tarasenko, Patrik Berglund and Alexander Steen scored in a 7½-minute span of the second, helping St. Louis open a 3-0 lead.

FOOTNOTES Senators CEO out.

Tom Anselmi is out as the Senators’ president and CEO. The team said that Anselmi, who was hired Jan. 27, 2017, will be “vacating his position.” The Senators also announced a three-year extension for general manager Pierre Dorion, saying the team’s goal remains to win a Stanley Cup. … The Rangers sent Brendan Smith to Hartford of the American Hockey League after the defenseman cleared waivers. … The Hurricanes have sent forwards Marcus Kruger and Josh Jooris to their AHL affiliate in Charlotte.
