SHARKS BEAT DUCKS 3-2 IN SHOOTOUT

Logan Couture had a goal and an assist and then scored in the shootout to help the Sharks beat the Ducks 3-2 on Sunday night.

San Jose’s Timo Meier tied it with 53.7 seconds remaining. Martin Jones made 25 saves in the Sharks’ second straight win.

Ondrej Kase had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who had won three straight home games. Cam Fowler also scored, Nick Ritchie had two assists and John Gibson made 37 saves.

Sidney Crosby scored twice, including his 400th career goal, to lead the Penguins to a 4-1 win over the Blues. Bryan Rust snapped a tie with a thirdperio­d tally and Riley Sheahan also scored for the Penguins, who have won 12 of their past 17. … Sean Couturier had a goal and two assists to help the Flyers beat the Golden Knights 4-1. The Flyers became just the fourth team to defeat Vegas at TMobile Arena. … Matthew Tkachuk scored twice in the third period, getting the tiebreakin­g goal with 1:05 left, to rally the Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Islanders .… Adam McQuaid got his first goal of the season with 8:05 to play, and the Bruins extended their road point-scoring streak to 13 games with a 5-3 victory over the Devils .… Jimmy Vesey scored with 3:53 left in the third period, and the Rangers beat the Jets 3-1. … Tomas Tatar scored his second goal of the game 2:47 into overtime, and the Red Wings edged the Capitals 5-4. … Reid Boucher scored his first two goals of the season, Jacob Markstrom made 30 saves for his second career shutout and the Canucks beat the Stars 6-0.

Kings forward Dustin Brown was suspended for one game without pay Sunday for kneeing Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev. Brown was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing in the second period of the Kings’ 4-3 loss Saturday night at Tampa Bay. Sergachev returned to the game in the third period.
