FIELD DAY
If you need a break from basketball or hockey, check out action-packed rugby for an alternative. March 10 is Fan Appreciation Day at Infinity Park (4599 E. Tennessee Ave.) in Glendale. Colorado’s professional rugby team, the Glendale Raptors, takes on the New Orleans Gold at 3 p.m. for a free exhibition match. Fans can meet Rudi the mascot, learn the rules of the game at the Rugby 101 corner and enjoy a fun afternoon in the sun. Outside food and beverage are not allowed, except for factory-sealed or empty water bottles. For a double dose of rugby action, go early for a match between Regis High School and Jesuit NOLA at 1:30 p.m. glendaleraptors.com

CHILD’S PLAY
Thanks to this deal, Elitch Gardens will be a major destination for frugal families this spring and summer. The amusement park just introduced its new Pre-K Pass. Kids (ages 3 to 5) get free unlimited visits to the theme and water park for the entire 2018 season. (Children 2 and younger always get in for free.) Parents must register kids online by May 20 and then activate the pass at the park by June 24. The pass is for admission only and does not include any other benefits. Still, it’s quite the savings, given the regular online daily ticket price for children is $35.99. There is a limit of two Pre-K Passes per family. To maintain the family summer entertainment budget, everyone else might consider getting a season pass — starting at $69.99. The park opens April 28. elitchgardens.com/pre-k
