Reactions to President Trump’s plan to meet with Kim Jong Un

- Re:

“Trump says he will meet with North Korea’s Kim,” March 9 news story.

Should I (should any of us) feel comfortable with the prospect of the arrogant, muddleheaded know-nothing who lives in the White House negotiating life-and-death nuclear matters for me, and us, with this North Korean killer? For killer he is. He is also, obviously, not dumb and, also obviously, he believes he can outmaneuver our fake president. Otherwise, he would not be suggesting a meeting.

We can only hope that if this meeting comes off, Donald Trump will find enough wisdom — and modesty — to bring with him a delegation of Korean experts and at least a few advisers who can tell him when to speak and when to shut up. Bernard Leason, Denver

President Donald Trump may be as brilliant as he claims, but as the leader of 326 million Americans — not just the leader of his base of voters — he needs to surround himself with experts and those with decades of experience in all the areas of a president’s concern and responsibility. The most current examples are the areas of our economy and of world diplomacy. A truly brilliant person understands and accepts the limitations in areas where he or she is not an expert and does not have significant experience — and he or she is not diminished or intimidated by those limits. It’s the wisdom of “listen and learn.” Polly Whiteside, Lakewood

Last Friday The Denver Post published an incredibly historic story concerning our president meeting with the North Korean leader to discuss denuclearization. Where was that story reported in The Denver Post? Page 15A. And what was the priority on Page 1A? A story about how wooden structures will burn in a fire (“Wood buildings not higher risk”).

Your hatred for President Donald Trump has so clouded your editorial judgment, it is really impossible to believe that anything you print, except for sports scores, has validity. Michael Collins, Englewood
