AURORA MAN GETS 20 YEARS FOR MURDER

A 22-year-old Aurora man was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison for the death of a woman whose body was dumped in Clear Creek County.

Shawrae Butler pleaded guilty, as part of a plea agreement, March 5 to conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and to tampering with a body in the death of Queen Ashby, 20, according to the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office. Other charges against Butler were dropped. Her body was found April 8, 2017.

Couple filmed having sex in downtown Aspen.

An amorous couple apparently gave several pedestrian­s on South Galena Street an eyeful Wednesday night, police said Thursday.

A 15-second video clip shot from across the street shows the couple having sex in the doorway of a business in the 200 block of South Galena Street. At one point, a man walking by looks directly at the couple, prompting the man to pull up his pants and end the encounter.

Police have requested surveillan­ce video from the business in an effort to locate the couple.

Ex-FBI agent says predator killed Colorado woman.

A former FBI agent believes a Colorado woman wasn’t killed by her husband but by a child predator targeting her 6-year-old daughter.

John Larsen testified Thursday in the second murder trial of Michael Blagg, who is accused of killing his wife Jennifer Blagg in 2001.

Michael Blagg says he came home from work and found a blood-soaked mattress in the couple’s bedroom and both his wife and daughter, Abby, missing. Jennifer Blagg’s body was found in a landfill, but Abby has never been located.

Winter Park considers DNA tests for dog poop.

The town of Winter Park is considerin­g institutin­g DNA testing for dogs at the newly built, townowned Hideaway Place apartment complex in response to a number of owners failing to pick up after their pets, according to Winter Park Housing Manager John Crone.

While no decisions have yet been made, Crone said the town is considerin­g DNA testing as a deterrent for those who don’t pick up after their pets.
