FORBES: YANKEES WORTH $4 BILLION

» The New York Yankees NEW YORK are the most valuable franchise in baseball at an estimated value of $4 billion, according to Forbes.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are second at $3 billion, followed by the Chicago Cubs ($2.9 billion), San Francisco Giants ($2.85 billion) and Boston Red Sox ($2.8 billion). The Rockies rank 23rd ($1.1 billion).

Tampa Bay is the least valuable team, estimated to be worth $900 million.

Molina drops appeal.

Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina dropped his appeal of his onegame suspension stemming from an altercatio­n with Arizona Diamondbac­ks manager Torey Lovullo and sat out Wednesday’s game against Milwaukee.

Molina was penalized for making contact with plate umpire Tim Timmons during Sunday’s dispute. Molina initially appealed the suspension after it was announced Tuesday and played in a 5-3, 11-inning win.

Lovullo was suspended for one game and served the penalty Tuesday.

Braves RHP McCarthy injures left shoulder.

Atlanta Braves right-hander Brandon McCarthy was pulled after hurting his left shoulder reaching to grab a throw while covering first base.

McCarthy had what the Braves said was a subluxatio­n of his non-throwing shoulder, which can refer to a partial dislocatio­n.

Mets’ Travis d’Arnaud tears elbow ligament.

MIAMI» The New York Mets noticed a recent drop-off in catcher Travis d’Arnaud’s throwing, and now they know why.

D’Arnaud went on the disabled list for the fifth consecutiv­e year Wednesday with a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, and surgery is possible.

Price pulled from start.

Red Sox left-hander David Price has been pulled from a start against the New York Yankees after experienci­ng a tingling sensation in his left hand.

The team said during Wednesday’s game that he will be evaluated further.

Price pitched one inning, giving up four runs and three hits, including a home run to Gary Sanchez. Price was shaking his hand during the inning.

Tigers’ Zimmermann bruises jaw.

» Detroit Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was taken to the hospital with a bruised jaw after being hit by a line drive off the bat of Cleveland’s Jason Kipnis on Wednesday night.

The right-hander was face down on the mound for several moments and attended to by head athletic trainer Doug Teter.

Dodger Stadium to host 2020 All-Star Game.

Baseball’s All-Star Game is returning to Dodger Stadium in 2020 for the first time since 1980.

Commission­er Rob Manfred cited three factors in awarding the 2020 edition to Los Angeles: the city offers a “great place” to showcase the game’s younger talent, Dodger Stadium is iconic as baseball’s third-oldest park, and “it’s time for us to be back here.” — The Associated Press
