FIRE RALLIES IN DYING SECONDS

TORONTO» Alan Gordon scored the equalizer in second-half injury time, and the Chicago Fire rallied for a 2-2 draw against Toronto FC on Saturday.

Bastian Schweinste­iger had the other goal for the Fire. Jonathan Osorio and Victor Vazquez scored for Toronto.

With Chicago trailing 2-0, Schweinste­iger’s header off Diego Campos’ corner kick got past Alex Bono in the 69th minute. Philadelph­ia 3, D.C. 2. Borek Dockal scored the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute, and the Philadelph­ia Union beat D.C. United 3-2 on Saturday.

Dockal blasted a rightfoote­d shot from a narrow angle past goalkeeper Steve Clark, who reeled backward as the ball went above his head.

It was Dockal’s first career MLS goal and the Union (2-3-2) held on from there.

New England 1, K.C. 0.

Teal Bunbury scored his fourth goal in the last five matches and Matt Turner had four saves to help the New England Revolution beat Sporting Kansas City 1-0 on Saturday.

It was the third shutout of the season for Turner, a 23-year old who made his first MLS appearance in the season opener and has started every game for New England (4-2-2) this season.

Columbus 2, San Jose 1.

Mike Grella scored in the 84th minute and the Columbus Crew snapped a four-game winless streak with a 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquake­s on Saturday night.

Pedro Santos’ cross skirted past San Jose’s Magnus Eriksson and connected with Grella, who cut it back and slotted one home inside the near post.

Minnesota 2, Houston 1.

Ibson Barreto da Silva and Darwin Quintero each scored to help Minnesota United beat the Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Saturday and end a four-game skid.

Ibson redirected a cross by Miguel Ibarra to give Minnesota (3-5-0) a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute. Ibarra tapped it to Martin on the right side, who led Ibarra toward the goal line where he fed Ibson for the finish just inside the far post.

Atlanta 4, Montreal 1.

Miguel Almiron and Kevin Kratz each scored a pair of goals to rally Atlanta United past the Montreal Impact 4-1 on Saturday.
