Playboy centerfold involved in a custody battle apparently jumped with her 7-year-old son to their deaths from the 25th floor of a hotel. Stephanie Adams and son Vincent fell 23 floors and were found on a second-floor balcony about 8:15 a.m. Friday at the Gotham Hotel. She told the New York Post that her husband and his lawyer were blocking her from taking her son away on vacation.

Ermold wants to be the next clerk in Rowan County. More than 5,000 people from at least 48 states have donated in increments of $10 and $20 to Ermold, giving him more than $200,000 for an election that could require as few as 900 votes to win. It was three years ago when Ermold stood in disbelief as the current clerk, Kim Davis, told him “God’s authority” prevented her from giving him a marriage license. Davis eventually went to jail for her stance, making her a hero to some and a scofflaw under a U.S. Supreme Court decision.

Egypt’s president announces Rafah crossing open for Ramadan.

» Egypt has opened the Rafah border crossing with Gaza for the entire Muslim holy month of Ramadan, President Abdel-Fatah el-Sissi announced. It would be the longest uninterrup­ted period of time since 2013. The move is meant as a humanitari­an gesture during the annual holiday, one of the few occasions in which Egypt allows some Gazans stranded by a 2007 Egypt-Israel blockade to leave and return to the territory ruled by Hamas.

Poisoned ex-spy released from hospital.

LONDON» Former Russian spy Sergei Skripal has been discharged from a British hospital more than two months after he was poisoned with a nerve agent and left fighting for his life, health officials said Friday. Skripal, 66, and daughter Yulia were found unconsciou­s in the English city of Salisbury on March 4, and spent weeks in critical condition.
