CLUB RULES

Everyone is welcome at this family-friendly club — no exclusive membership required. Cinemark is opening the doors on its Summer Movie Clubhouse with 10 flicks for $5, making each film only 50 cents. Punch cards are available at the box office or at cinemark.com. Without a punch card, it’s still a great deal at $1 per flick. The 10-week film fest begins May 22 at Century 16 Belmar (440 S. Teller St.) in Lakewood and plays every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. In addition, starting May 30, the series plays every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. at Century Boulder (1700 29th St.) This year’s line up include recent hits “Ferdinand”, “Paddington 2”, “The Boss Baby” and many more. cinemark.com/summer-movie-clubhouse.

SHAKE IT OFF

Cool down with this dessert deal from Wendy’s. For a limited time, the fast-food chain is serving up a small Frosty for 50 cents — choose chocolate or vanilla. (You can also get a combo of both flavors.) It’s nearly 65 percent off the regular price, so the savings are definitely sweet. With no limit, everyone can grab a spoon and dig into the deal. Adventurous types are known to dip their fries in the creamy concoction for a sweet and salty experience. wendys.com

STARRY NIGHT

“Spacey people” will definitely enjoy an outof-this-world, once-in-alifetime experience at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. NASA astronaut Dr. Kjell Lindgren is returning to Colorado for a special presentation on May 23 at 7 p.m. Lindgren will discuss his training and life as an astronaut, as well as his experiences on board the International Space Station. He logged 141 days in space, successfully completed two spacewalks and conducted more than 100 different scientific experiments. (Lindgren is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado State University and the University of Colorado Medical School.) After the program, enjoy a meet and greet with Dr. Lindgren. All ages are welcome. The program is free, but reservations are required at dmns.org.

FAMILY FUN, STAT!

Clowning around can cause a not-so-fun trip to the emergency room, but not in this case. Swedish Medical Center (6196 S. Ammons Way) in Littleton has finished renovations on its Southwest ER and is inviting the public to check out the new digs. The grand opening celebration is May 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families can enjoy a free carnival with lots of games, prizes, food, music and more. Plus, parents can get a complimentary car seat inspection to ensure they’re traveling safely. There will also be a touch-a- truck area that includes the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children’s new Mobile Training Center. swedishhospital.com

PIN HEADS

Parents will be bowled over by the savings from this keep-the-kids-entertained summertime deal. AMF and Brunswick Bowling Centers are offering kids (15 and under) three games of bowling every day from May 21 to Sept. 3 for just $31.95 to $34.95. (Price varies by location.) That’s 116 days of fun. If kids can bowl the maximum, each game would cost about 30 cents. However, the pass pays for itself in only three visits. And, yes, shoe rentals are included. There are 11 participating alleys in the Denver metro area. Visit bowlsummergames.com for locations and registration. Then, pick up your pass at your chosen lanes. Adults can purchase an AMF Summer Pass starting at $47.95 — also, good for three games per day.
