EX-NUGGET FACES ARMED ROBBERY CHARGE IN GEORGIA

GA.» A former Nuggets player NEWNAN, from Georgia has been arrested for armed robbery.

Coweta County Sheriff spokesman Jimmy Yarbrough told news outlets 29-year-old J.J. Hickson was arrested Friday and was being held without bond.

Yarbrough said Hickson was charged in connection with a home invasion. Yarbrough said at least two people were involved, but only Hickson faces charges.

Hickson attended North Carolina State before being drafted in 2008 by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Hickson signed with the Nuggets in 2013. He played in 162 games over three seasons before being waived in 2016. He also played for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards throughout his eight-year career. He most recently played basketball overseas for the Champville SC team in Lebanon.

Federer books Stuttgart final berth and reclaims No 1.

STUTTGART, GERMANY» Roger Federer defeated Nick Kyrgios 6-7 (2), 6-2, 7-6 (5) to book his place in the Stuttgart Open final and reclaim the No. 1 ranking from Rafael Nadal.

“It’s nice that it happened but I’ve other problems,” said Federer, playing his first tournament since March. “I hadn’t played in three months, it’s on grass, it’s fast and difficult to get so far here. Still, I’m delighted to have achieved it.”

The Swiss great will play Milos Raonic as he bids for his 18th grasscourt title and 98th altogether.

Raonic earlier hit 19 aces and saved the only break point he faced as he defeated defending champion Lucas Pouille 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the other semifinal.

Nordqvist, Pace share LPGA Tour lead. MICH.» Anna

Nordqvist and Lee-anne Pace each shot 8-under 64 to share the thirdround lead in the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Nordqvist and Pace each birdied four of the first five holes and two of the last three — each making 20-footers on the par-4 18th — in their bogey-free rounds. They were at 18-under 198 at Blythefiel­d Country Club.

Nordqvist, from Sweden, has eight LPGA Tour victories, winning the Founders Cup and The Evian Championsh­ip last year.

The 37-year-old Pace, from South Africa, won the 2014 Blue Bay LPGA in China for her lone LPGA Tour title.

Brother of NBA’S Zach Randolph killed outside of Indiana bar. INDIANAPOL­IS» Authoritie­s say Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph’s brother was shot and killed early Saturday outside of a bar in the Indiana city where the two grew up.

Police said that an officer heard gunfire at around 5 a.m. and found Roger Randolph bleeding between two cars outside of Hop’s Blues Room in Marion, which is about 60 miles northeast of Indianapol­is. They said investigat­ors don’t know the circumstan­ces surroundin­g the shooting, but they don’t think it was a random attack.

Roger Randolph, who was 35 years old, had several brushes with the law, including for a 2004 shooting at a nightclub that wounded three people and landed him in prison.

Eagle woman wins race up highest peak in Northeast.

PINKHAM NOTCH, » Kim Dobson of Eagle won the N.H. grueling annual race up the highest peak in the northeaste­rn United States for the fifth time in five attempts. Her time of 1 hour, 11 minutes, 43 seconds was the fastest among the women and seventh fastest overall.

Cesare Maestri, of Borgo Lares, became the first European to win. He pulled away from three-time winner Eric Blake on Saturday at the halfway point of the 7.6-mile race to the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington. He finished with a time of 1:00:53.
