Food trucks roll in.

Music festival Grandoozy announces its food and drink lineup.

- By Chaney Skilling

Food truck fanatics may be thrilled by the offerings at this year’s Grandoozy music festival. Prefer some gourmet eats from one of Denver’s many restaurants? No problem. And what about a cold beer while watching Kendrick Lamar on Overland Park’s main stage? Of course; it wouldn’t be a proper summer festival without one.

Grandoozy, a three-day festival planned for September, on Wednesday announced its food and drink lineup to complement its A-list headliners. But rather than offering an overwhelming list of vendors, festival organizers put together three unique experiences to highlight its food and drink, according to a press release.

Denver Devour, the largest of the three, takes advantage of the local scene — boasting 30 Denver-area food vendors. Culinary experts and local hot-shots like Biju Thomas, owner of Biju’s Little Curry Shop, DiningOut Magazine’s publisher Jeff Sukin, and Bar Dough’s executive chef Carrie Baird helped assemble Grandoozy’s selections, which range from neighborhood favorites to award-winning cuisine.

Throughout the weekend, for example, festival-goers’ mouths will be watering for Mexican food from Comal, breakfast classics by Snooze, and afternoon treats from Sweet Cow Ice Cream. And to satisfy those latenight cravings, Grandoozy has arranged for a caravan of food trucks — including Rocky Mountain Slices, OG Burgers, and Mac N’ Noddles — to line the streets.

VIP ticketholders will also have the opportunity to match headliners like Florence + The Machine and The Chainsmokers

with a lobster roll from New England newcomer Maine Shack, gourmet burgers from Highland Top Burgers, Bar Dough’s taste of Italy, and a bit of Latin American spice from Señor Bear.

Of course, Grandoozy isn’t planning on leaving you thirsty. Its two remaining experiences — Flight School and Arts + Crafts — bring together some top Colorado distilleries and breweries.

Over at the Flight School, Food & Wine’s Chad Michael George will be serving flights of spirits from distilleries such as Smokey Spirits, Rhums of the World, Agave Tour and a Colorado Whiskey Flight, as well as four other signature cocktails.

Colorado craft beer enthusiast Steve Kurowski has lined up 18 craft breweries to be featured at Grandoozy’s Arts + Crafts scene. Some of the suds that festivalgoers can look forward to include 4 Noses Brewing Company, Breckenridge Brewery, Denver Beer Company and Left Hand Brewing Company.

Grandoozy will take over Overland Park for its debut Sept. 14-16. Headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Florence + The Machine, The Chainsmokers, Miguel and Stevie Wonder.
