GOLDEN NIGHTS

As many summer film series are wrapping up, the city of Golden is just getting started. It hosts a free Movies & Music In The Park series at Parfet Park (10th St. and Washington Ave.) each Friday night in August. Bands perform at 7 p.m. and the featured movie starts at dusk on a big inflatable screen. Here’s the line-up: Aug. 3, “A Wrinkle in Time”; Aug. 10, “Beauty and the Beast” (2017); Aug. 15, “Coco”; and Aug. 22, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Bring a picnic or buy food, including pizza, ice cream, popcorn and drinks, from local vendors. Blankets or low-slung chairs are encouraged. If you need to sit up higher, organizers suggest you park yourself on the edge of the crowds.
