Is Keenum really all that?
Keenum is the guy. Everyone is juiced up with quarterback Case Keenum’s precision and accuracy. I think the biggest difference he brings isn’t so much the precision and accuracy, but the fact Denver now has a clear-cut starter guys can rely on. I’m stoked to see a cohesive offense kick butt. Kiz: When Mayor Michael Hancock visited practice Friday and asked if the Broncos would be a better team in 2018, I offered an answer I thought a mayor might dig: Count on Keenum to be an unflappable leader in all situations. But, early in camp, there remains one great unknown. As quarterback of the Vikings, when his protection broke down during the NFC championship game, Keenum committed two costly turnovers that lit the fuse on a 38-7 loss to Philadelphia. If the Denver offensive line has failed to improve in a major way, Keenum will be unflappable while explaining losses more painful than anybody in Broncos Country wants to imagine.
Siemian vs. Lynch. In recent your column on Paxton Lynch, you should have reminded readers Minnesota will also likely play their new multimillion-dollar quarterback for only a few series in the upcoming exhibition game against Denver, with Kirk Cousins to be followed on the field by You Know Who. Rockies regrets? I’m surprised there has been little mention of the trade that got away from Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich. Kiz: The Rockies are loathe to give up prospects, much less Rodgers, the crown jewel of their farm system. But here’s guessing the Orioles would’ve taken young pitcher Riley Pint atop a package for Britton. I’m less confident Bridich would’ve been crazy about my idea.

Rockies vs. Broncos. And today’s parting shot takes umbrage with my opinion that a game at Coors Field with the Rockies in the playoff race makes for more compelling theater than a Broncos practice during training camp.
