SUICIDE BOMBER KILLS 3 NATO FORCES IN AFGHANISTA­N

AFGHANISTA­N» A Taliban KABUL, suicide bomber killed three NATO forces on a foot patrol in eastern Afghanista­n on Sunday in an attack that also wounded a U.S. soldier and two Afghan troops, NATO said.

The Czech military confirmed that the three killed were Czech service members.

H.F. Lenfest, former media mogul, philanthro­pist, dies.

PHILADELPH­IA» H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest, who made a $1 billion fortune in the cable industry and gave almost all of it away, supporting schools, museums, journalism and the arts in Philadelph­ia and beyond, died Sunday, a family spokesman said.

Gerry Lenfest was 88. He was taken Sunday from his Rittenhous­e Square home to Penn Presbyteri­an Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Oregon police chief orders review of use of force at protest.

Saudi Arabia ordered the Canadian ambassador to leave the ultraconse­rvative kingdom within 24 hours after his nation criticized the recent arrest of women’s rights activists.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry also said it would freeze “all new business” between the kingdom and Canada. Some 10 percent of Canadian crude oil imports come from Saudi Arabia.

Egypt says troops have killed 52 militants in Sinai.

Egypt says its security forces have killed at least 52 suspected militants in recent days in the restive northern Sinai Peninsula.

The military said in a statement that another 49 suspected militants have been arrested. It says it destroyed 26 hideouts and weapons depots, and dismantled 64 explosive devices.

Police: Baby’s body pulled from water near Brooklyn Bridge.

YORK» Authoritie­s NEW are investigat­ing the death of a baby who was found floating in the water near the Brooklyn Bridge on Sunday.

A family spotted the approximat­ely 8-month-old boy wearing only diapers in the shallow water near the Manhattan shoreline at about 4 p.m.

No parent or guardian was at the scene and the child showed no signs of trauma, police said.
