Hillary Clinton is headlining Denver Democratic fundraiser
Hillary Clinton will make a fundraising stop in Denver later this month as she jumps back into the political trenches ahead of midterm elections.
The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee is set to headline an evening fundraiser Sept. 23 at the northwest Denver home of former Interior Secretary and U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, confirmed Colorado Democratic Party spokesman Eric Walker.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jared Polis and other candidates are expected to join Clinton at the event, which attendees will pay $1,000 or more to attend, Walker said Tuesday.
The fundraiser is being put on by th e Democrats’ coordinated campaign — dubbed the Fearless Project — and will benefit a variety of candidates as well as the Democratic National Committee. The DNC can accept as much as $33,900 from each donor.
The event is not expected to raise much money directly for Polis’ campaign. The congressman from Boulder has limited donations to $100 per person as he has mostly selffunded his campaign against Republican state Treasurer Walker Stapleton.
Clinton plans to headline at least three other DNC fundraisers this fall, CNN reported last month. In the 2016 election, the former U.S. senator and secretary of state won Colorado’s nine electoral votes but lost the presidential election to Donald Trump.
