Re: “Obama issues scathing critique of Trump, “politics of fear,” Sept. 8 news story
Berating the Trump Administration, President Obama’s sanctimonious display of his vaunted Ivy League intellect at Illinois University rudely punctuated the sorely needed reprieve conservative voters have enjoyed from his unique brand of pedantic demagoguery.
Here’s a couple of Obama’s more egregious canards from his latest rhetorical outburst.
Obama claimed that he was responsible for inaugurating the economic recovery for which Trump claims credit. But Democrats, including progressive economist and Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman, famously predicted that Trump’s policies would lead to the collapse of fragile markets.
Despite their failed prognostications, Obama and the progressive left now insist — in hindsight — that Trump made little or no contribution to the recovery effort, implying that anyone elected president would have presided over robust economic growth! Can leftwingers recognize intellectual dishonesty?
Obama also claimed that growth would have been more vigorous under his administration had the Republicans not won majorities in the House and Senate. Once again, his argument contradicts logic and empirical data.
