Rams OK physically after gauntlet

- By Mike Brohard

FORT COLLINS» From the moment the schedule became official, Mike Bobo was concerned.

The Colorado State football coach knew the successive trio of Power Five opponents would be challenging in terms of wins and losses — and the Rams came out of games with Colorado, Arkansas and Florida 12 —but also physically on his team. In terms of the training room angle, the Rams didn’t do too badly.

“We’re a little bit banged up, but we’re better than I thought we’d be,” Bobo said. “There’s some guys that got some bumps and bruises, but I think they’re going to be able to play and practice. (Monday) we’re going in shorts and helmets, where normally this would be a shells day. (Tuesday) we’ll go full pads and then shells on Wednesday.

“(I’m) taking a little bit off of them physically today; be more of a mental practice, and that’s a little adjustment I’m going to make. Then I’ve got to keep an eye as the week goes on. There’s been a lot of strain in all four games.”

Defensive end Richard King has missed past two weeks under concussion protocol and remains doubtful for this week. Receiver Warren Jackson missed last week with a knee bruise, though he made the trip and was avail able for redzone use. During the Florida game, guard Jeff Taylor exited with an ankle issue.

There were others who missed part of the game with injury issues. Bobo said receiver Preston Williams is probable. Braylin Scott, Rashaad Boddie, Trey McBride and Cam Butler practiced as tolerated Monday but should play. Taylor, who has started all four games, is the most serious, listed as questionable; the rest are probable.
