The Open Forum DCPA improves its performance with “Oklahoma!”

- Re: Kay Treadway Norman, Ross Kaminsky,

John Wenzel’s review in The Post was spot on. After attending the Molly Brown production and “The King and I” it was my intention never again to support the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Both were extremely poor esp the King.

But I relented and treated my daughterin law to “Oklahoma!”

We were both thrilled. Three days later we are still reviewing it and encouraging friends to go. As a Texan [formerly], Oklahoma is often derided. But this production had me on my feet and singing along. Wish I could see the curtain again.

Fantastic. I will support the DCPA in the future. merits a public debate at this time. The editorial claims that you “believe in the intelligence of your readers and their ability to consume opinion content…in a productive manner.”

This is the editorial equivalent of a hostagevideo confession: “We know that you know that Pat Schroeder’s piece was beyond the pale, but it’s your job to figure out when we let people lie to you — not our job to stop lies from running on our pages.”

The Denver Post owes Lang Sias a public apology for your complicity in Pat Schroeder’s reprehensible implications. But given your doubling down on the propriety of allowing Schroeder’s piece to run, it’s clear that the Post’s Editorial Board has agreed to trash journalistic integrity in the interests of partisanship.
