Roadrage shooting suspect to stand trial
The 23yearold man accused of a deadly roadrage shooting in Westminster this past summer that left a boy dead and three others injured will stand trial, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Adams County Judge Don Quick found sufficient evidence to bind Jeremy Webster over for trial on all charges, including first degree murder in the death of 13yearold Vaughn Bigelow. Tuesday’s hearing was a continuation of Friday’s daylong preliminary hearing.
Webster also has been accused of injuring Vaughn’s mother, Meghan, 41, and 8yearold brother, Asa. A bystander, John Gale, was shot in both arms.
Webster is set to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 27. He’s being held at the Adams County Detention Facility without bond.
During Friday’s hearing, Westminster police investigators fleshed out more details about the June 14 roadrage incident, relaying gruesome eyewitness accounts from the scene.
According to police testimony, Webster and Meghan Bigelow got into a confrontation while driving on Sheridan Boulevard. Police allege that Webster followed Bigelow to a dentist’s office on the corner of West 80th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard before shooting her, two of her kids and a bystander.
An eyewitness described the shooting of the 13yearold boy as an “execution.”
