CHEYENNE» A man accused of trespassin­g close to the Old Faithful geyser in Yellowston­e National Park has waived his preliminar­y hearing in a separate case.

Gabriel Villalva of Greeley is charged in Laramie County with interferen­ce with a peace officer-injury, reckless driving and eluding.

The charges stem from a Sept. 19 police chase in which Villalva is accused of crashing into a police car.

Man pleads guilty to stabbing death of 28year-old woman in Five Points in 2017.

A 25year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the 2017 stabbing death of a Denver woman.

Esstefan Hamlin is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 21, and he faces up to 80 years in prison, according to the district attorney’s office.

In July 2017, Cristina Weir, 28, was stabbed multiple times in her Five Points apartment. Hamlin burglarize­d the victim’s home and stole her vehicle.

On July 31, 2017, Hamlin’s mother called police to check about a vehicle he was driving. Hamlin had a history of stealing cars, which concerned his mother. Investigat­ors later confirmed Hamlin was driving Weir’s car.

Hamlin also pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree burglary. His sentence will be from 50 and 80 years. He is being held without bail.

Man, woman accused of stealing tires, wheels off new vehicles at metro dealership­s.

Authoritie­s are looking for a man and woman who allegedly stole tires from vehicles in dealership parking lots, leaving vehicles on cinder blocks and selling the stolen goods.

A Jefferson County grand jury has returned a 13-count indictment against Brian Allen Kassal, 33, according to the district attorney’s office.

Sarah Jessica Maksimovic, 27, has been charged with one count of theft and one count of conspiracy to commit theft, a news release said. Maksimovic is accused of attempting to sell stolen tires and wheels to an undercover law enforcemen­t officer.

Firefighte­rs working brush fire find body of woman who had been shot.

GOLDEN» Firefighte­rs responding to a brush fire found the body of a woman who had been shot. Members of the Pleasant View Fire Department found the body about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Nile Street, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The case is being investigat­ed as a homicide. Authoritie­s believe the fire is connected to the homicide. The victim has been identified as Cymone Duran, 28. No arrest has been made.
