Pac-Man thanks team after release

The Broncos released veteran cornerback Adam Jones on Tuesday, a league source told The Denver Post, confirming a social media post that indicated his time in Denver is over.

Jones — a 12th-year pro with 522 career tackles, 17 interceptions and five return touchdowns — signed a oneyear deal with the Broncos in late August. He played eight previous seasons with the Bengals. Jones was brought to Denver in hopes of bolstering its secondary depth and to return punts after the team waived wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie.

Jones appeared on 173 defensive snaps in seven game appearances with nine tackles and one interception. He also returned 10 punts for 25 yards and four kickoff returns for 85 yards.

Jones posted a message to Instagram Tuesday afternoon that suggested change was imminent: “Well Denver it was good, thanks for the opportunity !!!! On to the next!!!”

Also, the Broncos placed left guard Max Garcia on injured reserve Tuesday and signed Cyrus Kouandjio. Garcia tore his ACL last Thursday in practice. Kouandjio, 25, played in three games for the Broncos last year and was in this year’s training camp, but was cut Sept. 1.

He will be a reserve tackle because Elijah Wilkinson and Billy Turner, the reserve tackles to start the year, are now the starters at right and left guard, respectively.
