DETROIT» Andreas Athanasiou tied it midway through the third period and scored 49 seconds into overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings over the Boston Bruins 3-2. Jimmy Howard stopped 34 shots and Tyler Bertuzzi also scored for Detroit, which has won nine of 11 and is over .500 for the first time this season.

Steven Stamkos had a goal and three assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning reclaimed the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 7-3 victory over the Florida Panthers.
