Harris only concern for winning, carefree team

- By Mike Singer

TORONTO» Jamal Murray briefly interrupted his postgame media session, looked to his left and laughed at Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ irreverent star.

Jokic, moments after his second triple-double of the season in a huge win over Toronto on Monday night, was bobbing his head and jamming to what the Nuggets’ center described as a combination of Serbian pop/rock.

“Look at him,” Murray said, a throng of mostly Canadian media surrounding Denver’s ascendant point guard. “That’s what I deal with every day. He’s just fun to play with.”

Murray could’ve been referring to the light attitude Jokic brings to the locker room, or the carefree way he dissects defenses. Either would’ve been applicable.

“He does everything,” said Murray, who had 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds along with seven turnovers in his Canadian homecoming. “He passes, rebounds, handles the ball. There’s nothing he can’t do except jump.”

Jokic shredded Toronto’s eighth-ranked defense for 23 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds in the Nuggets’ 106-103 victory, their sixth in a row. Denver improved to 16-7 overall, tied for first in the Western Conference. The Raptors (21-5), had their eightgame winning streak snapped.

“The guys were making shots, I was passing the ball,” Jokic said. “We had a really good energy on our bench. Everybody who played did something good. A little bit of everything.”

The only thing that marred the Nuggets’ improbable road win was Gary Harris’ injury. He left with a hip injury late in the first
