CSU OFFERS AURORA GRADS DISCOUNTED ONLINE TUITION

Aurora Public Schools graduates who want to take online classes through Colorado State University will pay about one-quarter less than the general public because of a real estate deal.

CSU Global, which offers bachelor’s degrees in 13 subjects, mostly related to business, recently moved into a newly constructe­d headquarte­rs at 585 Salida Way in Aurora.

Instead of paying the school district rent, it will offer Aurora graduates a discounted rate of $265 per credit hour for online classes. The usual rate is $350.

Also, Corey Christians­en, a spokesman for the school district, said this year seven students will receive Golden Eagle scholarshi­ps worth up to $7,500.

Jail sentence for wife of man accused in fatal Utah shooting.

CITY» The wife of a man accused of fatally shooting a University of Utah student has been sentenced to a year in jail for her role in the killing.

Kathleen Elizabeth Rose Boutain, 23, was sentenced Friday. Austin Boutain was given a life sentence in prison after admitting in September to aggravated murder in the 2017 death of ChenWei Guo.

Austin Boutain has been returned to Colorado because he and his wife are charged in the killing of a Golden man three days before Guo’s murder. Authoritie­s say the Boutains allegedly stole Mitchell Ingle’s truck and drove to Utah.

Man denies charge in former CU football player’s death.

» A man has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of a former University of Colorado football player who was drafted by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.

Sentinel Colorado reports 31-year-old Marcus Johnson entered his plea in the February death of 46year-old Anthony “T.J.” Cunningham, who was an assistant principal at Hinkley High School.

Investigat­ors say the two were neighbors and agreed to meet in a parking lot to address a lingering parking dispute. Johnson is accused of shooting Cunningham three times in the head and chest.

Man who died from punch is identified.

A man who died after being punched in a Denver disturbanc­e has been identified. Cameron Miller, 28, was pronounced dead at Denver Health on Sunday after being punched in the 1900 block of South Quebec Street, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Miller died of bluntforce injuries, the coroner’s office said. No one been arrested.

Teen shot dead in southwest Denver is identified.

A teenager who was shot and killed in the Mar Lee neighborho­od of Denver has been identified.

Darrell Mitchell, 19, died at Denver Health medical center Aug. 8, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Mitchell died of gunshot wounds, and his manner of death is a homicide.

Officers responded to the shooting about 6:20 p.m. last Thursday near West Colorado Avenue and South Meade Street, police said.

There has not yet been an arrest in the case.

An investigat­ion is ongoing.
