The Open Forum “Of course it’s partisan”

- Re: Gloria Tate, Re: Dan Eberhart, Barry Seidenstat,

Sigh, “Here we go again.”

On your Sunday editorial page a letter writer states, “Here we go again. Another partisan attempt to oust Donald Trump.” Of course it’s partisan. Republicans aren’t going to hold Trump accountable. We have two parties in constant disagreement with each other. Was it not “partisan” when Republicans impeached Bill Clinton?

Do you believe that if your “duly” elected president does indeed “stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody,” we should carry on as though nothing happened?

No president should be above the law. Inviting another country to interfere in our elections is wrong. We need to find out if that is indeed what happened. If it is, impeachment should go forward. That driver was under extreme duress from the unruly students and appropriately pulled the bus over, calling for security.

The parent had no right to interfere and, in fact, made the situation worse. Had the incident occurred on an RTD bus, she would have been charged with a felony for just touching the driver, much less punching him several times. Absolving the parent not only relieved her of any accountability, it disrespected a public servant trying to deal with a difficult situation. McCann’s decision sent the wrong message.

Not really sure how bike lanes in Wash Park are related to “... bureaucrats can spend money to keep themselves and their buddies employed.” Seems to me the bike lanes were created to solve a safety issue that’s been a problem since I moved here in 1980.
