REPORT DETAILS ACCIDENT THAT KILLED CYCLIST

DURANGO» A State Patrol report indicated the driver of a pickup was speeding when he struck and killed a profession­al bicyclist.

The truck was traveling 65 mph in a 35 mph zone at the time of the March 4 accident that killed Benjamin Sonntag, 39.

No charges were filed as of Wednesday against the driver, 19-year-old Cordell Schneider of Durango.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as contributi­ng factors.

The report indicates Sonntag was on the wrong side of County Road 105 as Schneider’s Ford Ranger truck approached him.

Ute Indian Tribe issued a stay-at-home advisory Monday night because of the coronaviru­s.

The 1,064-square-mile reservatio­n is in three counties — La Plata, Archuleta and Montezuma. The tribe’s headquarte­rs is in Ignacio, and a seven-member Tribal Council governs the tribe, according to its website. Half the tribe’s population is under age 30.

One killed in house fire. AURORA» One person was killed in a house fire late Tuesday night, and fire officials were investigat­ing the cause.

The victim’s identity has not been released. Four dogs and two cats survived the fire, said Lt. Laure Bridges, Aurora Fire Rescue spokeswoma­n. The fire department responded to reports of a house fire after 10:30 p.m. in the 16000 block of East Flora Place, according to a fire department news release.

Apartment fire damages three units; no one injured. An apartment fire in southeast Denver on Wednesday damaged three units, and firefighte­rs brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.There were no injuries. Firefighte­rs were dispatched about 2:40 p.m. to the Stone Creek Village Apartments, 9825 E. Girard Ave., on a two-alarm fire, said Capt. Greg Pixley, a department spokesman.
