A global software company specializing in website creation will open its newest office in Denver with about 200 employees to start, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said Tuesday.

Wix.com plans to open its new office in the fall, Polis and the state Office of Economic

Development and International Trade announced. Jobs at the Denver location will include more than 200 full-time customer care employees. Positions in sales and account management will be added as the operation grows.

“These new jobs will be a strong addition to Colorado’s rebounding economy, and this Denver location will offer tremendous opportunity for continued growth,” Polis said in a statement.

Wix has grown as entrepreneurs, creators and businesses move to and expand online, said Alon Mor, the company’s vice president of customer care. Wix has more than 170 million users, Mor said. “Denver has and continues to be an epicenter for technology, attracting talent that matches what we’re seeking for one of the most strategic groups in our company,” Mor added.

Wix employs about 3,200 people across 15 locations worldwide, including its headquarters in Israel and U.S. offices in Miami, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

In June, Marqeta, a global modern card issuing platform, chose the Denver area out of 17 other sites to open its second headquarters. The Oakland, Calif., company plans to employ more than 500 people in Colorado

over the next eight years with a goal of hiring 100 employees within the first 12 months of opening its office.
