STABBING ATTACK AT SHOTGUN WILLIES LEAVES ONE DEAD

One person was killed and three others were wounded after a 40-year-old Arvada man entered Shotgun Willie’s Show Club Friday night with a large knife and proceeded to stab people until he was shot to death by a security guard, Glendale police said.

The four victims were two staff members, one patron and one security guard, police said.

A 40-year-old man was killed in the incident.

Two other men, ages 44 and 24, were in stable condition, and a third individual, a 45-year-old man, has been released, police said.

Officers responded to the strip club, 490 S. Colorado Blvd., around 9:49 p.m. to reports of a stabbing, police said in a news release.

The suspect, Kyle Swain, was a frequent customer of Shotgun Willie’s “who had recently been been advised that he was no longer welcome at the establishm­ent due to erratic behavior,” police said.

Swain was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mike Gross, a Glendale police captain, could not say whether Swain targeted specific individual­s.

About 12:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Prairie Avenue on a report of a shooting. They arrived to find two bodies and a third male who had a minor injury from the shooting.

Officers later received informatio­n a male was at a hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said a confrontat­ion led to the shooting: The two males who later were killed approached a large group of individual­s and attempted to rob them at gunpoint. Someone in the group had a gun and shot the would-be thieves.

No arrests have been made.

COMMERCE CITY» Police are urging adults to keep their weapons in a secure place after a 3-year-old boy was shot to death.

Commerce City officers were called to a neighborho­od just west of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal on Thursday afternoon on a report of a gunshot and found the child dead. The toddler’s two older brothers, ages 12 and 13, were in the home at the time and were not injured. No adults were at the home. Police Cmdr.
