Why should Denver be penalized for the incompetence of the Patriots and their inability to manage their team’s health two weeks in a row? It sounds fishy to me. Delaying the game buys New England some time so quarterback Cam Newton can start Monday.

When something seems fishy, we demand to see the replay in ultraslow motion, because our real national pastime isn’t football or baseball, but the filing of our grievances. We like to gripe.
