Two women injured in Lakewood carjacking

Two women, victims of a carjacking, were injured Monday afternoon in Lakewood when the fleeing carjacker ran them over, police said.

The incident happened at about 12: 45 p. m. in the 400 block of Benton Street, according to a news release.

The women, ages 88 and 76, were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police describe the carjacker as a Hispanic man, about the age of 20, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red, cloth facial mask and a hat. The vehicle stolen is a

2000 Lincoln sedan with a Colorado Honorably Discharged license plate 274- CBF.

The suspect is armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, or has informatio­n on the incident, is asked to call 911.

Search ongoing for missing hiker in Alamosa

County. Search and rescue officials in Alamosa County are asking for tips from the public about and overdue hiker who was last heard from on Saturday.

Joy Cipoletti, 60, was hiking Saturday in the Zapata Falls area, on the South Zapata Lake Trail, and in the Ellingwood Point area, according to the sheriff’s office.

Cipolleti was last known to be wearing a light purple or green jacket and she may be wearing a white hat. She is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and about 140 pounds, with curly brown and gray hair.

She was last heard from at about 3 p. m. Saturday.
