RAIDERS SEND O- LINE STARTERS HOME AFTER POSITIVE TEST

The Las Vegas Raiders sent all five starting offensive linemen home as part of coronaviru­s contact tracing after right tackle Trent Brown was placed on the reserve/ COVID- 19 list with a positive test.

The Raiders held practice on Wednesday without their starting five as they prepare for Sunday’s home game against Tampa Bay. Safety Johnathan Abram also was held out because of contract tracing.

The Raiders had the week off last week and returned to practice on Monday. Brown took part in that practice but has since tested positive.

Jets QB Darnold returns to practice,

has chance to play. NEW YORK » New York Jets quarterbac­k Sam Darnold practiced for the first time since spraining his throwing shoulder and could have a chance to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Darnold was listed as a limited participan­t Wednesday, which is a positive developmen­t for the young quarterbac­k.

Jets trade OLB Willis to 49ers for

draft pick. NEW YORK » A person with direct knowledge of the deal say the New York Jets have traded outside linebacker Jordan Willis to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Jets are also sending a 2021 seventh- round draft pick to the 49ers for a sixth- round selection in 2022, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the teams hadn’t announced the trade.

Mario Henderson dies at 35. HENDERSON, NEV. » Former Raiders offensive lineman Mario Henderson has died. He was 35. There was no cause of death given.

Henderson joined the Raiders in draft- day trade after being picked in the third round by the New England Patriots after his college career at Florida State. He played four seasons in Oakland, starting 28 games.

Penn State coach Pat Chambers

resigns after investigat­ion. Pat Chambers resigned as Penn State’s basketball coach Wednesday following an internal investigat­ion by the school into allegation­s of inappropri­ate conduct.

Chambers, 49, had been at Penn State for nine years and was coming off the team’s best season under his directions.

The investigat­ion followed July story by ESPN’s “The Undefeated” that quoted a former Penn State player saying Chambers made an insensitiv­e remark to him, referencin­g a noose during the 2018- 19 season.

Group launches fundraiser to save

university hockey team. ANCHORAGE, ALASKA » Supporters have started a fundraisin­g drive to save the Alaska Anchorage hockey team.

Save Seawolf Hockey, the group behind the fundraiser, has until February to bring in $ 3 million to prevent the Board of Regents from eliminatin­g the program.

School Chancellor Cathy Sandeen in August proposed eliminatin­g hockey, alpine skiing and gymnastics in response to state funding cuts.

The Board of Regents said in September that it would consider keeping the programs if they can raise enough money to cover two years of operating costs.

dog show leaves NYC for 2021. NEW YORK » The Westminste­r dog show is set to take a long walk.

The nation’s top pooch pageant will be held outdoors at an estate about 25 miles north of Manhattan on June 12- 13 because of the pandemic, the Westminste­r Kennel Club said Wednesday.

The shift to the Lyndhurst site along the Hudson River in Tarrytown, New York, will mark the first time in more than 100 years that best in show at Westminste­r hasn’t been awarded at Madison Square Garden. In 1920, the top prize was presented at Grand Central Palace in New York.
