AUGUSTA, GA. » Sergio Garcia pulled out of the Masters on Monday after informing Augusta National he tested positive for the coronaviru­s, making him the second player to withdraw following a positive test.

Garcia won his only major at the Masters three years ago in his 19th appearance, the most of any player before winning a green jacket.

“After 21 years of not missing a major championsh­ip, I will sadly miss the Masters this week,” he tweeted. “The important thing is that my family and I are feeling good. We’ll come back stronger and give the green jacket a go next April.”

SEC takes hit from COVID- 19 as MSU- Auburn game is postponed.

The Southeaste­rn Conference on Monday postponed Saturday’s game between No. 20 Auburn and Mississipp­i State because of positive COVID- 19 cases and quarantini­ng within the Bulldogs’ program.

The SEC requires programs to have at least 53 scholarshi­p players available for games. Mississipp­i State coach Mike Leach said the Bulldogs were just a player away from having to postpone last Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt. The game has been tentativel­y reschedule­d for Dec. 12 in Starkville, Miss.

Also in the SEC, No. 5 Texas A& M paused in- person activities after a player and a staff member tested positive for COVID- 19 after returning from a win at South Carolina.

LSU is battling an outbreak that could put Saturday’s game against No. 1 Alabama in jeopardy. And Arkansas coach Sam Pittman has tested positive and could miss the game at No. 6 Florida.

White Sox manager La Russa charged with DUI.

Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa has been charged with driving under the influence. According to the Maricopa County Justice Courts website, the arrest occurred in February, but charges were filed Oct. 28, one day before La Russa’s hiring was announced by the White Sox.

MSU coach Izzo tests positive for COVID- 19.

Tom Izzo has been an advocate for wearing masks and social distancing, hoping to use his platform at Michigan State as a Basketball Hall of Fame coach to help slow the spread of COVID- 19. Despite practicing what he preached, Izzo tested positive for the coronaviru­s on Monday.

Luhnow files $ 22M breach of contract lawsuit against Astros.

Former Houston Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the team, seeking more than $ 22 million in salary owed under his deal when he was fired in January. The suit, filed Monday in Harris County District Court in Houston, claims Luhnow was unaware a camera was used to steal signs during the team’s run to the 2017 World Series title, which baseball Commission­er Rob Manfred found violated baseball rules against electronic­s.
