Some practical applications to remember the Trump legacy. At the house we use it as a verb. When my son screams and yells at us, we say “Be nice. Don’t be a trump.” When he refuses to do things and lies about it we say, “stop trumping around.” When he is lollygagging and not doing what he is supposed to, we say “you can do better, don’t just trump it.” When he slams his fist on the table, we say, “behave yourself, don’t trump like that.”

Furthermore, the name could have some general applications. Trump can be used as an epithet, for example, “Go trump yourself !” Or, “Be careful. Don’t trump it up!”

The name could represent a simile, “and like trump, he refused to accept the facts.”

It could be used as a metaphor, “Do the research and get your facts straight, don’t give us a trump.” Undoubtedly, the list goes on and on. Let’s all be safe and keep out of Trump’s way.

On September 11, 2001, a group of men, who were incited to hate the United States, commandeered four aircraft which led to the death of over 3,000 innocent Americans.

On April 19, 1995, the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed, and we learned a lot about groups who hated the United States Government. One hundred and sixty-eight (168) people, including 19 children, were killed and several hundred more were injured on that day.

Think about our country’s reaction to 9/11, and the absolute condemnation of Islamic terrorism that took place. On January 6, we watched President Trump both incite the insurrection and do absolutely nothing to quell it as it took place. For the past 26 years our government, and many Americans, understated domestic terrorism because those actions are incited by the growing voice of conservative talk radio, TV, and social media.

Since the election, we’d been asked to respect the grievances of those who continued to believe the election fraud allegations.

And finally we had our day of reckoning. In the next few weeks we will examine a sad truth that white supremacy and anti-government rhetoric, a significant contributor to the insurrection and domestic terrorism, is actually sanctioned and evident in so many people and places in our country.

And now we ask, is the president guilty of an impeachable offense? If a president doesn’t do everything in his power to prevent an insurrection, or invasion, into our Capitol, an action that led to death, destruction, and terrorization, what action is any worse than that? Isn’t it time for all Americans to condemn this behavior? Mark Zaitz, Denver
