WomAn killed in AdAms county police shooting

A woman was shot and killed by an Adams County Sheriff early Tuesday morning.

A deputy found a reportedly stolen car on Interstate 76 just after midnight Tuesday, and a chase began. The pursuit saw two adult females evade deputies, officials said.

Eventually, the vehicle was found again, but it was abandoned, according to officials.

Deputies then began searching the area and contacted one adult female suspect.

During the interactio­n, deputies said they were alerted that the suspect had a gun.

The woman was fatally shot in the area of East 25th Avenue and Imboden Road.

Adam Sherman, a spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, said investigat­ors were conducting interviews with witnesses, involved individual­s and deputies.

Aurora police investigat­ing fatal Monday night shooting.

Aurora police are investigat­ing a fatal shooting that happened Monday evening in the 1300 block of Alton Street, according to a Tuesday news release from the police department.

Officers responded to the shooting around

9:30 p.m. and found 42-year-old Leroy Marcus Devan had been shot. Devan was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, Aurora police said.

Homicide investigat­ors were trying to learn more about a suspect and what led to the shooting.

“At this time the informatio­n is still being gathered and there is no additional informatio­n to provide,” the news release read.
