Anti-rural rhetoric too strong

- — Staff and wire reports

Re: “Pushed away,” Feb. 7 op-ed Dick Wadhams needs to tone down the rhetoric. Has he learned nothing from the very real political violence of the past several weeks? Wadhams claims that rural Colorado is “under assault,” “at war,” and “in the crosshairs.” He describes Democrats as “hell-bent” on “killing” industry in rural Colorado. We can and should discuss the issues and navigate the rural/urban divides that are present in the state, but Wadhams needs to focus on the issues rather than fanning the flames of political violence that are consuming his party. It is irresponsible of The Denver Post to publish inflammatory pieces like this.
