FATAL SHOOTING AND TWO STABBINGS IN DENVER, POLICE SAY
Police in Denver were investigating a fatal shooting early Saturday and two stabbings.
A man was shot at West 16th Avenue and Irving Street, police said on Twitter at 12: 10 a. m. Saturday. On Saturday afternoon, police announced that the shooting victim had died. A suspect has been arrested and is being held on investigation of firstdegree murder.
A stabbing happened at East Colfax Avenue and Emerson Street, police said at 3: 07 a. m. Saturday. The second stabbing happened in the 7200 block of Leetsdale Drive, according to a 5: 06 a. m. tweet. Both stabbing victims are men, and the incidents are under investigation.
Investigators did not initially release suspect information or further details on the stabbing victims’ injuries.
Pedestrian hit by motorist in Denver dies.
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a motorist in Denver on Friday night.
The collision happened in the area of Speer Boulevard and Broadway, police said on Twitter at 11: 36 p. m. Friday. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The incident is under investigation. The medical examiner’s office will identify the victim after family has been notified.
21- year- old man arrested in connection to Friday death investigation.
BOULDER » Police said a 21- yearold man was arrested Saturday in connection with a person who was found dead in the 4800 block of Pearl Street.
Alan Moody is charged on suspicion of vehicular homicide, a Class 4 felony, and causing an accident involving personal death or personal injury, a Class 3 felony, according to a statement released Saturday by Boulder police.
The news release said “good police work” led detectives to identify Moody after midnight Saturday.
Just before 6 a. m. Friday, a passerby notified police of an unresponsive person in the road. Officers arrived within minutes and found a person dead. Police said the person had suffered traumatic injuries.
Police temporarily shut down Pearl Street between 47th and 49th streets Friday to investigate.
The Boulder County coroner’s office will determine the cause of death, identify the person and notify the next of kin.
