Marquez has run hot and cold to open the season. He dominated the Dodgers in his first start, allowing one run over seven innings at Coors Field. He was not nearly as sharp in his last outing against the Cubs, allowing four runs on 10 hits with one walk and three strikeouts over 4L innings, also at Coors. In six career starts against the Phillies, he’s 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA, with 44 strikeouts vs. only 12 walks. Philly has tagged him for just two home runs. The Rockies are 13-2 over Márquez’s last 15 starts at Coors Field, with Marquez going 7-2 with a 3.08 ERA.

Eflin has not fared well vs. Colorado, going 1-3 with a 7.40 ERA over four starts. He’s struck out just 12 while walking 10. In his 2022 debut, Eflin held the Athletics to two hits and two walks while fanning three in four scoreless innings. It was an encouraging start for Eflin, who had knee surgery last September and was originally projected to join the team in May.

Trending: Entering Tuesday’s game, Charlie Blackmon had played against the Phillies 55 times, batting .313 (62-for-198) with 12 home runs, 11 doubles, two triples and 27 RBIS.

At issue: Despite a solid-looking 2.70 ERA over five appearances (3L innings), right-hander Carlos Estevez has been hit hard. He has a 2.700 WHIP and the opposition has batted .429 against him.
